Summer Reading

I hope you're enjoying your summer! I usually use my summer to mentally and physically prepare my classroom. I take time to think about what I want to change or add. I also tend to do fun projects! This is what my reading pile looks like right now:

I'm currently working on a couple of projects simultaneously. I mean, we are teachers, right?! I think I currently have about 15 books checked out from my library and another 30 on hold. I wonder what the maximum number of hold is?

Anyways, my coworker and I are going to start an after school STEM club for our K-2 kiddos. We're super excited! We're also going to have a STEM newsletter to send home with those kiddos (and a matching blog for the rest of the school if they want to view it.) A ton of the books I have checked out I'm previewing to feature in our newsletter. We're teaching a different topic each month, so I'm looking for books of high quality that complement each month's topic.

I'm also reading teaching books. Some are about teaching STEM and encouraging my students and some I just wanted to read.

Finally, I'm trying to start a non profit and there are books on how to do that and also kid friendly photography books. I signed up for my library summer reading program. Adults can win prizes, at least at my library! So I'm making sure I'm reading at least 20 minutes each day, just like I tell my kiddos. I wonder if I can count this blog post...

That's my summer reading list! What's on your reading list?
